There is something truly unique and magical about the world of Disney. The famous cartoon characters have influenced generations of children and regularly made the cinema the place it should be: somewhere where we can dream, let our imaginations run wild, a place that is far from the realities of everyday life.
With the acquisition of the Walt Disney licence, photomural manufacturer Komar from Kolbermoor, Germany, has been able to set a real milestone in the company's 50-year history by adding what is probably the world's most famous licence partner to its portfolio. At the licensees' meeting held virtually via video conference for the first time this year, Komar was presented with the prestigious Disney Quality Product Award for its especially high-quality designs.
The prize was presented for the Star Wars characters hand-drawn by Komar designers, which can be purchased as wall murals in the formats 30 x 40, 40 x 50 and 50 x 70. "By acquiring the Walt Disney licence, we have given both children and adults the opportunity to bring their heroes and role models into their homes in large-scale format," says Komar CEO Sabine Komar-Häusler. "It's a great honour to have had Disney as a licence partner for 10 years now and to receive one of the coveted awards for our work again."
Komar products appeal not just because of their high-quality designs but also because they meet key standards in terms of pollutant tests and sustainability. The Disney wallpapers, for example, are tested according to the stringent French VOC regulation and meet the emission requirements of Class A+, which is the best level. This means they have the lowest emission values and therefore offer the best possible health protection. Thanks to their breathable, moisture-regulating and completely odourless properties, these wallpapers are also ideal for kids' bedrooms.
