What drives us every day is the desire to produce photomurals that help customers design their homes individually, uniquely and attractively.
This has always been Komar‘s mission – and this mission is supported further by our new printing machine from Xeikon. One of the main factors that influenced our buying decision was the printing speed of 19.2 m/min, which optimises production output and costs.
The simplex machine Xeikon 3500 with speed upgrade is equipped with a coating unit which makes it possible to process both water-based and UV inks. Inline finishing capabilities also reduce the number of steps required to process the wallpaper. In the past, the wallpaper was first printed and coated, then cut, rolled and packed. With the new Xeikon, finished wallpapers come straight out of the machine. Thanks to the wider width of processable grammages, the Xeikon system can also print thicker 150 g/m2 non-woven materials, currently one of most popular wallpaper bases.
„The deciding factor for us was that that Xeikon has many years of experience in the field of digitally printed wallpapers. Xeikon 3500, including its inline finishing units, is the manufacturer‘s latest development and one that draws upon all of these experiences.
It is also considerably faster than other digital printing technologies used in the interior decorating sector,“ noted Sabine Komar-Häusler at the new system‘s launch in Komar‘s production site in Kolbermoor.
