Types of lighting
- Path lighting: Path lighting ensures safety and orientation. Recessed floor luminaires or bollard luminaires are particularly popular here. They should be positioned so that they illuminate the path evenly without dazzling.
- Accent lighting: Accent lighting can be used to emphasise certain areas or objects such as plants, sculptures or façade elements. Spotlights and spotlights are ideal for creating targeted lighting accents. Coloured light sources can also create interesting effects and change the atmosphere in the garden.
- Decorative lighting: Fairy lights, lanterns or solar lights create an atmospheric and festive atmosphere. They are ideal for parties or cosy evenings outdoors and bring additional flair and a romantic mood to the outdoor area.
Technologies
- LED technology: LED lights are energy-efficient, long-lasting and offer a wide range of colour temperatures and effects. They are suitable for both functional and decorative lighting solutions. LEDs consume significantly less energy than conventional light bulbs and have a longer lifespan, making them a sustainable choice for outdoor lighting.
- Solar lighting: Solar lights are environmentally friendly and easy to install. They charge during the day and emit light in the dark. As no power connection is required, they can be placed flexibly in the garden and are ideal for locations without a power connection.
- Smart home integration: Modern outdoor lighting can be integrated into smart home systems. Lighting scenarios can be programmed and controlled via apps or voice control, which increases convenience and security. Intelligent lighting systems enable, for example, the setting of timers, the automatic switching on of lighting after sunset or the integration of motion detectors that switch on the light when approached.
