The return to natural, unadulterated colours found in nature above, in and below the earth gives us the comforting feeling that we are on the right track. This new colour direction draws its inspiration from the warm and earthy tones of nature, from rich greens to soft beiges and earthy browns, combined with hints of terracotta and pastel blues. This sense of authenticity and connection to nature provides us with the energy we need to take on the challenges of an ever-changing world.
In this context, it is not surprising that one of NCS's four categories this year is aptly named 'Wood Kick'. Wood Kick represents a retreat into nature, an escape from the digital world of the metaverse to re-establish the original connection to the earth. The trend deliberately moves away from artificial and overly bold colours and instead emphasises the naturalness and warmth of the earth.
The Wood Kick colour palette includes a wide range of shades inspired by the earth and its elements. Matte terracotta colours evoke the warm earth beneath our feet, while natural earth tones remind us of the varied textures and shades found in nature. A soft blue colour, representing clear water, creates a calming atmosphere and brings a touch of freshness to the palette. A delicate orange completes the ensemble and adds a lively yet calming note.
Wood Kick combines harmoniously with a variety of natural materials, especially wood and linen, to create an ambience that appeals to our senses and conveys a deep connection with nature. These carefully selected colours and materials allow us to create a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also conveys a sense of calm, security and connection with the natural world.
